( week 1 ) sunday morning, mejojo
[ marie can't tell if she's very light or if mejojo's very strong, but it should be easy for him to lift her and carry her back to the house of spades. as she rests in his arms, she loosely wraps her arms around his shoulders, surprisingly comfortable being this close to an almost stranger. during their journey, she breaks the solemn silence with a soft remark. ]
I think it's sad that our little house is so quiet now.

because you know. everyone is dead and all. ]
We'll adjust in due time...the silence is a bit lonely, I must admit.
[ the door is in sight at last. ]
...She was your friend. Will you be alright, Lady Marie?

[ she shifts in mejojo's arms. "all right" is a hard thing to be, in this place. ]
Death is different for Minamoto and me. That did not make hearing the guillotine fall onto her neck any better, though.
[ as she says this, she shivers and curls up, protecting her own neck. ]

I won't allow anything to happen to you in my presence, Lady Marie.
[ there's a subtle smile, gentle as always. ]
I'm a skilled fighter, believe it or not. You said death was different for you, however...what do you mean exactly?

...she seems to be having a hard time coming up with an answer to mejojo's question, though. where to begin...]
Forgive me if this is hard to understand, but Minamoto and I are... Heroic Spirits. We were influential figures in history, whose souls have been granted kind of an immortality. We are summoned to fight wars for mages, so... dying more than once isn't strange for us. But we still feel pain, and our deaths feel just as real as the first.

A spirit, you said? And a hero. You must be beloved, then.
[ he nods, seemingly in thought for a moment. ]
Be careful, Lady Marie. The people depending on you wouldn't want to see you in pain.
HEY HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GOOD KITTY
[at this point, marie slides from mejojo's arms to stand in their house on her own feet. it's clear that she's more composed now, if still a bit morose. it's softer expression of pain and grief now, though.]
Merci beaucoup.
